At the launch, FRA highlighted that the lack of resources for most DPAs in the EU, a requirement under the GDPR, undermines their capacity to implement all tasks that the Regulation has entrusted to them, challenging their independence.
The European Data Protection Board and the European Commission commented on the report.
The findings complement the European Commission's forthcoming evaluation of the GDPR.
FRA also had the opportunity to join other sessions of the Symposium, speaking on data of people on the move and on online content moderation.
