On 24 April, FRA will present the key findings and opinions of the report on ‘Violence and rights abuses against women from Ukraine’ during the meeting of the Council Working Party on Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters (COPEN) in Brussels.

The report is based on the survey which FRA conducted to collect data on the experiences of women who have been displaced by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and who have arrived from Ukraine into the EU since 24 February 2022, the start of the current war.

The survey interviewed 1,200 women from Ukraine who reside in Czechia, Germany and Poland. The interviews included questions on women’s experiences of physical and sexual violence and sexual harassment (in Ukraine, during the transit journey, and after arriving in the EU), the overall impact of the war on their lives, and encounters with exploitative offers of transport, housing and work.
