The EU law enforcement training agency (CEPOL) gathered experts from EU Agencies and Member States to identify and discuss future training needs on information exchange and interoperability of EU IT systems.
On 30 April, FRA took part in Equinet’s webinar on artificial intelligence. It introduced the context of its research on fundamental rights and AI, its findings with regards to specific fundamental rights (data protection, non-discrimination, and access to remedies), and its key recommendations.
FRA presented its Fundamental Rights Charter resources and tools during a judicial training conference. It also showcased its new Charter e-guidance, an e-learning tool for judges on the Charter’s application. The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU hosted the ‘Modernising EU justice systems by boosting training of justice professionals’ conference.

The EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) held a webinar on unlawful profiling on 21 April. In its presentation, FRA set the scene with regards to discriminatory stop and search, building on its survey data.
On 29 April, FRA will take part in an online workshop organised by the Danish Institute for Human Rights and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI). The workshop is for NHRIs who want to learn how to engage more in reviewing the national implementation of the sustainable development goals from a human rights perspective.

FRA took part in the online expert meeting of the Frontex Technology Foresight on Biometrics for the future of Travel group.
The EU-funded PANELFIT H2020 project on AI for Crime Prediction and Prevention held a mutual learning encounter on 19 April. FRA joined participants at the event. It also included academic researchers and data protection experts.

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will host a remote public hearing on 21 April on the views and expectations for the future of Roma communities following the new EU Roma framework.
On 21 April, the FRA Director will have a virtual meeting with Europol’s Executive Director, Catherine De Bolle.
On 21 April, the Association of Polish cities will host a virtual event for mayors and vice-mayors.
FRA will present the results of its LGBTI II survey during an international webinar on LGBT+ hate crime. The focus will be on the prevalence of hate motivated harassment and violent attacks against LGBTI people.
