In einer Zeit, da die EU-Länder mit einer neuen Welle der COVID-19-Pandemie zu kämpfen haben, berichten Polizei, Medien und NGOs nach wie vor über zunehmende Gewalt gegen Frauen und Mädchen. Diese „Schattenpandemie“ hat verheerende Auswirkungen auf die Rechte von Frauen und Mädchen in ganz Europa. Die Agentur der Europäischen Union für Grundrechte (FRA) und das Europäische Institut für Gleichstellungsfragen (EIGE) fordern die EU und alle Mitgliedstaaten auf, ihre Anstrengungen zum Schutz der Rechte von Frauen zu verstärken und den Internationalen Tag für die Beseitigung der Gewalt gegen Frauen zum Anlass zu nehmen, konkrete Maßnahmen zu ergreifen.
Today, the nine European Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) agencies came together to wrap up the activities of the network in 2021 and present its key achievements.
