Advisory Board to Croatia’s border monitoring mechanism meets

On 17 June, the Advisory Board of the Independent Border Monitoring Mechanism of Croatia met in Zagreb. They discussed the monitoring mechanism’s last periodic work report that covering the first five months of 2025.

They also looked their improved methodology and the plans to implement monitoring activities in the second half of 2025. 

FRA welcomed the regular reporting and the improved methodology, and highlighted some aspects in the functioning of the mechanism that need further aligning with FRA’s guidance on national independent mechanisms to monitor fundamental rights compliance at borders. 

FRA’s membership in the Advisory Board to this national border monitoring mechanism is linked to its strand of work to support the fundamental rights compliant implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum
