Die Verfassungsänderungen bergen die Gefahr, dass die in der Charta der Grundrechte der Europäischen Union verankerten Grundsätze der Gleichheit, der Menschenwürde und der Achtung der Grundrechte sowie die Verpflichtungen, die die Mitgliedstaaten im Rahmen des Vertrags über die Europäische Union (EUV) eingegangen sind, untergraben werden.

The FRA Scientific Committee met on 5 September at the Agency in Vienna. It elected Gentian Zyberi as its new Chair and John Morijn as Vice-Chair. Both will serve a one-year term.

The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has submitted two contributions to the European Commission as part of the consultation for the next long-term EU budget. In the submissions, FRA calls for stronger safeguards to ensure all EU funding upholds fundamental rights and the EU’s founding values. It also urges action to address the shrinking space and funding for civil society organisations (CSOs) that work on fundamental rights, democracy and the rule of law.
