New Scientific Committee elects its first Chair and Vice Chair

FRA's Scientific Committee
The newly-appointed Scientific Committee of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency elected John Morijn as its Chair and Kirsten Roberts Lyer as its Vice-Chair for a term of one year.

The Committee met on 7 September for a retreat at the agency in Vienna to get to know each other and learn about the agency’s work, procedures and methodologies.

On 8 September they held their first regular meeting reviewing FRA reports as part of their mandate to guarantee the highest scientific quality of the agency’s work.

The 11 independent members Scientific Committee meet four times a year. They are all highly qualified in the field of fundamental rights, experienced in research methodologies and maintaining scientific quality.
