FRA contributes to Council work on digitalisation in justice and law enforcement access to data

The Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU invited FRA to join discussions on the fundamental rights implications of digitalisation in the justice and home affairs fields.

At the Council Working Party on e-Justice, the Agency presented its work on videoconferencing, highlighting the benefits, risks and safeguards associated with the use of remote court proceedings. The presentation informed the Working Party's ongoing work in this area, drawing attention to the importance of ensuring access to justice and fair trial rights in digital environments.

FRA also participated in a meeting of the Council Standing Committee on Operational Cooperation on Internal Security (COSI) Support Group, contributing to exchanges on law enforcement access to data.

The meetings took place in Brussels on 11 September.
