Regierungsmaßnahmen zur Bekämpfung von COVID-19 wirken sich tiefgreifend auf die Grundrechte aller Menschen aus, auch auf das Recht auf Leben und Gesundheit. Dies zeigt ein neuer Bericht der Agentur der Europäischen Union für Grundrechte (FRA). Die Reaktionen der Regierungen zur Eindämmung des Virus wirken sich vor allem auf die Rechte bereits schutzbedürftiger oder gefährdeter Menschen, also älterer Menschen, Kinder, Menschen mit Behinderungen, Roma oder Flüchtlinge aus. Die Achtung der Menschenrechte und der Schutz der öffentlichen Gesundheit liegen im Interesse aller – sie müssen Hand in Hand gehen.

Laut einem neuen Bericht der Agentur für Grundrechte (FRA) verletzen in Haftanstalten Überbelegung, mangelhafte Hygiene und unzureichender Aufenthalt außerhalb der Zellen die Rechte von Häftlinge und gefährden ihre Rehabilitation. Der Bericht und eine dazugehörige Datenbank unterstützen Gerichte, Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälte in grenzübergreifenden Fällen zu beurteilen, ob mangelhafte Haftbedingungen vorliegen.

On 1 December 2019, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights will celebrate its 10th anniversary since it became legally binding, with the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty on 1 December 2009. To mark this anniversary, the European Commission, together with the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), is holding a conference tomorrow, with the aim of looking at how to improve the use and awareness of the Charter to bringing it to life for citizens in the EU.
This video, shot at the recent Human Rights Communicators' Network Workshop, highlights many comments from the inspirational discussions on how elements of FRA's 10 keys to effectively communicate human rights can influence our day-to-day work.
Verzögerungen und hohe Hürden bei der Integration junger Menschen, die vor Krieg und Verfolgung geflohen sind, drohen eine verlorene Generation zu erzeugen.
