Kinderarmut beseitigen: Dem Kindswohl einen hohen Wert beimessen
Jedes vierte Kind unter 18 Jahren in der Europäischen Union ist von Armut oder sozialer Ausgrenzung bedroht, und das in einer der reichsten Regionen der Welt. Dennoch ist es eines der wichtigsten Ziele der EU, die Rechte des Kindes zu fördern und zu schützen; schließlich sind auch die EU und alle ihre Mitgliedstaaten Vertragsparteien des Übereinkommens der Vereinten Nationen über die Rechte des Kindes. Am Internationalen Tag der Bekämpfung der Armut ruft die FRA darum erneut die EU und ihre Mitgliedstaaten auf, bestimmte Investitionen zu priorisieren, um Kinderarmut auf das im Ziel Nr. 1 für nachhaltige Entwicklung angestrebte Niveau zu senken.
