Training to protect children as victims of crime

From 7 to 8 February, FRA contributed to training in Predeal, Romania to better protect children as victims of crime and make criminal proceedings more child-friendly.

The training aimed to prepare Romanian prosecutors and police officers to train other practitioners alongside the General Prosecutor’s office. It was part of the Norway Grant-funded project ‘Protecting victims of crime’.

FRA focussed on international standards of child-friendly justice and specific procedural safeguards when children are involved in criminal proceedings. FRA also addressed the specific situation of Roma children.

The next training for trainers will take place from 21 to 22 February. It will focus on victims of hate crime.
