FRA wins 3rd place in Civil Society Europe’s Civil Dialogue Award

The civil society umbrella network Civil Society Europe awarded its Civil Dialogue Award for the first time. The award recognises good practices and initiatives of meaningful involvement of civil society organisations in EU policy making, by EU Institutions and bodies.

FRA was among the three finalists among 10 nominations. FRA was nominated for the participatory way in which its research on the mobility needs of human rights defenders was conducted between 2022 and 2024, within the framework of FRA's civil society network, the Fundamental Rights Platform.

The winner was the Fundamental Rights Policy Unit of the European Commission for their work with the High-Level Group on hate crime and hate speech, for being an outstanding example of inclusion of civil society in EU policymaking.

Second place was the Latvian Ministry for Foreign Affairs for holding frequent and regular consultations with a network of over 50 civil society organisations to help formulate its national positions on EU files.
