On 8-9 October, FRA will present an overview of its activities at the Eurostat Working Group meeting on Statistics on Crime and Criminal Justice.

This annual meeting brings together representatives of national statistical institutes, the European Commission and EU agencies. They will discuss policy needs for statistics on crime and criminal justice, and review the ongoing data collection activities. This includes the collection of statistics on police recorded crime as well as progress of implementing the EU survey on gender-based violence.

FRA will provide the group with an update on relevant work, including the Fundamental Rights Survey. The survey collected data on experiences of crime (with respect to physical violence, harassment and selected property crimes), reporting incidents to the police, people’s safety and measures taken to avoid situations perceived as unsafe.
