FRA presented its Framework for Human Rights Cities in the EU. It highlighted benefits for embedding human rights across city work.
FRA also officially launched the Polish version of the FRA practical guidance on the Framework for Human Rights Cities.
The webinar brought together around 90 representatives from cities, provinces and civil society organisations in Poland. Discussions built on successful human rights related initiatives and lessons learned from Gdansk, Sopot and more. It also built on new initiatives of cities such as Krakow to become a Human Rights City.
The webinar was organised by the Polish Human Rights Cities Institute, the Association of Polish cities, the European Solidarity Centre, and other partners such as the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
The next webinars will fall on 25 May and 22 June. They will look at the benefits of being a Human Rights City, and the usefulness of the FRA framework. They will draw on experiences from Vienna, Utrecht and Swedish cities.
The next discussions will also look into fostering social inclusion, reinforcing the rights of rightsholders, in particular from vulnerable groups, and promoting civil society cooperation.
