The aim was to take the pulse of the fundamental rights situation in France, against the background of the upcoming French EU Presidency. It was an opportunity to provide updated information to civil society on FRA’s mandate, current activities, and priorities. French organisations highlighted concerns such as protection of asylum seekers, refugees, unaccompanied children, human trafficking, the use of force by law enforcement, the situation of people deprived of their liberties and the question of the use of data in opaque sites, such as detention facilities. Participants discussed how civil society can make use of the results of FRA’s work. This may become the subject of a further and more detailed webinar.
