On 14 September, FRA will take part in the hybrid conference ‘Access to Remedy and Responsible Business Conduct in Ukraine’s Recovery’. The event brings together representatives of government, the judiciary, business, civil society and international organisations to explore how Ukraine’s recovery can be grounded in human rights law, responsible business conduct and effective access to remedy.
FRA will contribute to a panel on ‘International and European Perspectives: What Does Effective Access to Remedy Require in Ukraine’s Recovery?’. FRA will share its research findings from an EU perspective on factors that support the effectiveness of judicial and non-judicial remedy mechanisms for people adversely affected by business activities. It will also contribute to discussions on how judicial and non-judicial mechanisms can complement one other, and on the relationship between human rights due diligence and access to effective remedy.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy and Environment, the Council of Europe, the UN Development Programme, the Ukrainian Supreme Court and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University are organising the event.
