The FRA Director will moderate a high-level panel on public dialogue as a pillar of the rule of law. Panellists will discuss how to strengthen meaningful public dialogue amid declining trust in institutions, rising political polarisation, and increasing challenges to informed democratic debate.
Speakers include EU Justice Commissioner, Michael McGrath, Cypriot Interior Minister, Constantinos Ioannou, Cypriot European Affairs Deputy Minister, Marilena Raouna, as well as Eleni Karaoli from Civil Society Advocates and Natalie Alkiviadou from Vanderbilt University.
FRA will also contribute to a panel on technology, digitalisation and AI in justice, examining their role in supporting the rule of law. The agency’s contributions build on recent FRA work such as the report on a fundamental rights-based approach to digitalising justice and its civic space update.
The conference takes place in Nicosia from 4 to 5 May.
