FRA’s National Liaison Officers meet

FRA held its regular meeting with the National Liaison Officers (NLOs) online on 23 March.

The NLOs are the main contact points for the Agency in Member States.

FRA updated its NLOs on specific thematic work. This includes FRA’s activities on the impact on fundamental rights in the EU of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, remote biometric identification for law enforcement, environment and fundamental rights, civic space, the entry and stay of human rights defenders coming from non-EU countries to the EU, the promotion of fundamental rights through EU funds, the EU Innovation Hub, FRA’s contribution to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, and the Fundamental Rights Forum 2024.

Sweden and Spain provided updates on the fundamental rights priorities during their current and upcoming Presidencies of the Council of the EU. The next meeting will take place in autumn 2023.
