On 21 October, FRA presented its recent report on The Law Enforcement Directive – data protection challenges in practice to the Council of the EU’s Working Party on Data Protection in Brussels, at the invitation of the Irish Presidency of the Council.
The report provides insights into how data protection rules are applied by law enforcement, judicial and supervisory authorities across the EU. Drawing on more than 130 interviews across all EU Member States, it highlights the need for greater awareness and practical guidance, adequate resources and stronger technological expertise.
