The discussions highlighted the huge potential of the Digital Services Act for protecting fundamental rights online. It addressed ways forward in relation to the role of civil society during the implementation of the Act.
The Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) organised the event, as part of their regular civil society round table discussions. The Brussels event included representatives of the Czech ministry for digitalisation and innovation, the European Commission, European Data Protection Supervisor, the European Regulators Group for Audiovisual and Media Services, the UN Human Rights Office, and several civil society organisations.
