Equality data experts join Belgian country visit to exchange practices

FRA attended two meetings in Brussels in the framework of a country visit to Belgium of the EU Subgroup on Equality Data. The Belgian Equal Opportunities Division hosted and chaired the country visit to Belgium on 4. November.

Belgium has invested in developing systems for equality data across a range of areas. These include recording systems of hate crime, and using innovative methods (such as situation testing), for a better understanding and capturing data about the many dimensions of discrimination. The country visit was also open to members of the Eurostat task force on equality statistics.

On 5 November, members of the subgroup and task force had a joint meeting. It enabled the exchange on practices and challenges in relation to the thematic areas covered by the working groups of the Eurostat task force.
