The group aims at exchanging information on the status and needs of children from Ukraine residing in Council of Europe Member States. It also advises on the reform of the Ukrainian child protection and care system.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Member States, including Ukraine, the European Commission, EU and UN Agencies and civil society.
The group discussed challenges in protecting children. It agreed to focus on eight priorities, which include the registration, reception and care of unaccompanied children; the exchange of information on legal and policy frameworks; standards applicable to specific groups and protection from any risks; and access to education, among others.
