Once again, FRA is cooperating with this year’s 'this human world', Vienna’s international human rights film festival. FRA supports the screening of three films on human rights.

One of the films looks at Roma rights, another at the rights of LGBTIQ people, and the third tells the story of a displaced young gymnast from Ukraine. Two of the screenings will be followed by panel discussions with the film makers, activists and human rights experts.

  1. Olga – This human world – Film screening – 3 December at 20:30
This film shows how Olga, a 15-year-old Ukrainian gymnast exiled in Switzerland, increasingly turns gymnastics into an outlet and escape following the Euromaidan revolts.

  2. Pongo Calling – This human world – Film screening and panel debate - 4 December at 18:00
This movie paints an authentic picture of the personal and political aspects of the involvement of Štefan Pongo, a Roma truck driver in London, in equal rights for the Roma community.

  3. As I Was Looking Above, I Could See Myself Underneath – Film screening and panel debate - 10 December at 18:00
The film is about the hopes and dreams, loss and defeat, and the meaning of home for seven LGBTQIA+ people living in Kosovo.
