The European Network of Equality Bodies, Equinet, will host a high-level conference on ‘Coding Equality into the EU AI Act - Equality Bodies rising to the Challenge’.
FRA Director Sirpa Rautio will be the keynote speaker at a public event to mark Vienna’s 10th anniversary as human rights city. Vienna became a human rights city in 2014, with a declaration, an action plan and subsequent opening of a human rights office.

The “Annual EU CharterXchange” is an initiative of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Commission to enhance the application of the rights enshrined in the EU Charter for Fundamental Rights (EU Charter). The European Commission’s 'Strategy to strengthen the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the EU’, adopted in 2020, and the subsequent Council conclusions on strengthening the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in the European Union call for further efforts in the Member States to promote the application of the EU Charter. The CharterXchange contributes to this objective by increasing the exchange of knowledge and experience and fostering collaboration among experts, policymakers, and stakeholders through a regular forum, which started in 2023, dedicated to the EU Charter.
FRA supported a meeting of the Czech government Council for Roma minority affairs and its discussions on ethnic data collection.
On 2 December, FRA presented the results of the EU survey on gender-based violence at the meeting of the Council of the European Union’s Fundamental Rights working party (FREMP).

A high-level conference in Bled from 5 to 6 December aims to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia.
On 3 December, FRA provided training on fundamental rights in connection with the use of biometrics. The training included practical testing sessions of the automatic border crossing self-service systems.
FRA held an online information session for public authorities on the findings of the Eurostat-FRA-EIGE EU survey on gender-based violence. The presentation of the key results included an outline of FRA’s engagement with stakeholders at the EU and national level in the framework of the survey.
On 4 December, students from the Central European University Vienna will visit FRA as part of their Political Economy class.
FRA actively participated in a high-level conference of the European Migration Network. Organised by the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council it looked at how to make returns more effective.
FRA was a trainer during a training course on labour exploitation trafficking. The training addressed police officers and labour inspectors from different EU Member States.
The European Migration Forum in Brussels from 28 to 29 November focused on the role of civil society in implementing the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact. FRA spoke during a panel on the fundamental rights of migrants, together with the EU Asylum Agency.
FRA presented the indicators on political participation of people with disabilities at the Disability Week at the European Parliament on 4 December. It focused on the most recent data on political participation of people with intellectual disabilities.
On 3 December, a group of students from Vienna’s Webster University will visit FRA.
On 3 December, the Secretariat of Governing Bodies to the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) will host a virtual event to discuss how to fully implement Sustainable Development Goal 16 for people with disabilities.
On 2 December in Rome, FRA will present the key findings and challenges identified in its Fundamental Rights Report 2024. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of fundamental rights issues in Italy.
On 22 November, FRA participated in the Plenary event of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe in Brussels.
On 21 November, FRA’s Director took part in a high-level conference in Strasbourg marking the 25th Anniversary of the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner.
