Articolul 20 - Egalitatea în fața legii
Toate persoanele sunt egale în fața legii..
Acest articol corespunde principiului general de drept înscris în toate constituţiile europene şi pe care Curtea îl consideră a fi un principiu fundamental de drept comunitar (hotărârea din 13 noiembrie 1984, în cauza 283/83, Racke, Rec. 1984, p. 3791; hotărârea din 17 aprilie 1997, în cauza 15/95, EARL, Rec. 1997, p. I-1961 şi hotărârea din 13 aprilie 2000, în cauza 292/97, Karlsson, Rec. 2000, p. 2737).

Article 14 The State shall promote the equal right of men and women to enjoy all economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights and for this purpose shall take appropriate measures to eliminate all forms of discrimination between the sexes by any person, organisation or enterprise; the State shall in particular aim at ensuring that women workers enjoy equal rights and the same wages for the same work as men.

29 straipsnis. Įstatymui, teismui ir kitoms valstybės institucijoms ar pareigūnams visi asmenys lygūs. Žmogaus teisių negalima varžyti ir teikti jam privilegijų dėl jo lyties, rasės, tautybės, kalbos, kilmės, socialinės padėties, tikėjimo, įsitikinimų ar pažiūrų pagrindu.
