This will be the focus of a European Commission conference on engaging citizens for good governance in cohesion policy, in Brussels on 6 February.
It will bring together some 500 participants including EU and national policymakers, international experts, civil society, managing authorities and beneficiaries of EU cohesion funds.
FRA will speak in a panel on capacity-building for authorities and civil society. It will explore how to create strong partnerships and cooperation in the implementation of cohesion policies.
FRA will draw on its work on civic space. It will underline the importance of creating an enabling environment for civil society to be a strong advocate for the rights of citizens.
