First meeting of the EU child rights network

The first-ever EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 2021, led to the EU child rights network. It met for the first time on 31 March.

The network is formed by Member States and EU institutions. It also includes international and non-governmental organisations, representatives of local and regional authorities and children, for some activities.

The first meeting focused on the situation in Ukraine, the implementation of the EU Strategy, synergies with the Council of Europe’s child rights strategy and future work of the network.

FRA provided an overview of the situation in EU-Ukrainian borders and its work in response to the Ukraine crisis.
