EU capacity building event focuses on applying new Screening Regulation

FRA gave a presentation on its updated guidance on independent national monitoring mechanisms that should be set up as part of screening and the asylum border procedures at a event on how to apply the EU’s new Screening Regulation.

The workshop was a platform for Member States to exchange their first insights on progress made and challenges encountered while adapting to the new requirements under the Regulation.

Representatives from EU Member States representatives, EU Agencies and international organisations attended the workshop.

FRA’s presentation was part of its broader work to support the rights-complaint implementation of the EU’s new Migration and Asylum Pact.

The European Migration Network organised the capacity-building event.

The workshop took place on 25-26 March in Luxembourg.
