The focus will be on the integration of young migrants and how to prevent a lost generation through local solutions. The event will explore challenges and good practices of integrating young migrants, particularly during key transitions periods such as the one from childhood to adulthood as evidenced by FRA’s report on the integration of young refugees in the EU.
Discussions will also explore what cities and regions can do to further contribute to migrant integration. Representatives from the Greek municipality of Livadia and the Catalan Regional Government will share their experiences as part of the Committee of the Regions’ Cities and Regions for Integration initiative. This initiative brings together mayors and political leaders of small and mid-size cities and regions to promote positive examples of integration of migrants and refugees, exchange information and foster inclusive cities and social cohesion through diversity.
This is the 12thFRA-CIVEX Annual Dialogue. The dialogue provides an opportunity to discuss with local and regional authorities policy actions at the European and Member State level, as well as sharing knowledge and promising fundamental rights practices.
