The event will be an occasion to reflect on how the Charter can become a meaningful part of everyday life. It will bring together national authorities, civil society and rights defenders.
The introduction will look at overall awareness of the Charter overall and how it is currently used.
Later sessions will explore its use at the national level when it comes to making, implementing and enforcing law and policies. Participants will also discuss the role of civil society organisations, National Human Rights Institutions and Equality Bodies in ensuring the Charter delivers for everyone.
There will also be an opportunity to look ahead to the next decade of the Charter.
Online Charter tools will also be presented. These include FRA’s Charterpedia and European Union Fundamental Rights Information System, as well as the European Commission’s e-Justice portal.
The event will be live streamed from 9:15am CET.
