FRA provided fundamental rights input to the EU Asylum Agency’s (EUAA) conference on key elements of legal assistance and information sharing in the context of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. The event focused on the pivotal role of accessible legal aid and transparent information-sharing arrangements in the asylum context to ensure the fair and effective implementation of the Pact.
FRA attended a meeting in Brussels from 6 to 7 October of the subgroup on the national implementation of the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan 2020-2025. It was the last meeting under the current anti-Racism action plan.
FRA’s Director Sirpa Rautio visited Cyprus and had insightful meetings with the government ahead of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union that begins in January 2026.

FRA’s Director launched the report ‘Rights of Roma and Travellers in 13 European Countries – Perspectives from the Roma Survey 2024’ on 2 October in Brussels. During the opening political panel of the European Platform for Roma Inclusion, she presented key survey findings.
On 7 October, FRA contributed to a panel discussion on instrumentalisation of migrants along the EU’s Eastern border. It was organised as part of the Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Prague Process.
FRA contributed to two sessions at the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit 2025, held in Spain from 7 to 9 October 2025. At a high-level panel on participation and inclusion, FRA discussed how meaningful participation enhances government effectiveness by leading to better-quality outcomes, increased legitimacy and trust, and greater empowerment.
The FRA Director spoke at the launch of ‘The Unheard 12 millions’. The book presents stories of individuals that the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights met during his visits to selected European countries.
FRA took part in the EU RIGHTS CITIES project partner workshop organised in Zagreb from 28 September to 1 October. The meeting focused on civic engagement and participation in human rights cities.
On 3 October, the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU, together with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, held a seminar on safeguarding human rights in migration management in EU policy.
