Since December 2022, no NHRI changed their accreditation status and 11 applied for accreditation or re-accreditation. In addition, some mandates changed.
The update covers the 27 EU countries as well as Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia. It builds on FRA’s 2020 report Strong and effective national human rights institutions.
It also feeds FRA’s EEA and Norway Grants-funded work on supporting NHRIs as they monitor fundamental rights and aspects of the rule of law.
