FRA will speak about the situation of civil society organisations in the EU to the European civil society organisations and networks Liaison Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in Brussels on 12 September.

FRA will draw on its regular consultations with its civil society cooperation network, the Fundamental Rights Platform.

FRA regularly provides expert input to EESC work. In June, the FRA Director also addressed the EESC’s Civil Society Days where he presented the Agency’s Fundamental Rights Report 2019.

EESC members also participate in FRA’s consultations, such as on their awareness and use of the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter. The EESC is an advisory body of the EU, representing the interests of the social partners (employers, trade unions) and civil society within EU’s institutions.
