FRA will take part in a WHO expert meeting on psychological intimate partner violence.

It will examine the current state of measuring psychological intimate partner violence, the related classifications, and availability of data from official sources.

The discussions aim to formulate recommendations on measuring and reporting psychological intimate partner violence based on current survey instruments. It will look at enhancements that should be considered to existing surveys.

FRA’s 2012 survey on violence against women collected data on psychological violence by intimate partners. The topic will also be covered in the second violence against women survey that FRA and EIGE will carry out, to complement data from Eurostat.

The meeting runs from 1 to 4 February.
