The first day focuses on countering hate speech and developments under the Code of conduct on countering hate speech online. During the second day, discussions will address the recommendations delivered by the European Citizens Panel on tackling hatred in society.
FRA will contribute to an opening panel on ‘Institutional responses to hate speech and hate crime at the EU and national levels’. Other panel members include the European Commission, the Council of Europe and OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
The Brussels event will run from 12 to 13 June.
