Romanian national equality body study visit to FRA

On 28 August, a delegation of Romania’s National Council for Combating Discrimination and the Romanian Institute for Public Policy visited FRA.

They were here to discuss the national challenges for effective hate crime reporting mechanisms and to learn about promising practices in this area in other EU Member States.

FRA shared the findings of the FRA report on hate crime recording and data collection practice across the EU. It also highlighted the importance of cooperating with civil society on preventing and recording hate crime.

The participants agreed to continue the conversation and to look into concrete opportunities for joint events, possibly also in collaboration with the European equality bodies network, Equinet.
