This initiative could help improve the situation of many Roma across Europe. He spoke of the appalling living conditions, discrimination and hate speech many Roma face, as FRA’s surveys have shown.
He also mentioned the need to fully involve Roma in the future initiative as partners, in the analysis and in the role-out of the solutions that also engage the general population. FRA remains commited to supporting the European Commission and Member States to establish a robust system for monitoring Roma integration.
This support will continue with the relaunched Working Party on Roma Inclusion Indicators that FRA will coordinate.
