On 20 June, FRA will present its annual fundamental rights report to the Council Working Party on Fundamental Rights, Citizens Rights and Free Movement of Persons (FREMP).

FRA’s Fundamental Rights Report 2023 reviews major developments in the field in 2022. It identifies achievements and areas of concern. It also presents FRA’s opinions on these developments, including a synopsis of the evidence supporting these opinions.

This year's report focusses on the fundamental rights implications for the EU of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, and particularly the situation of people fleeing Ukraine to the EU. It identifies challenges and proposes solutions for all aspects covered by the EU’s Temporary Protection Directive and by EU laws on human trafficking, hate crime and the rights of crime victims, all of which apply to beneficiaries of temporary protection.

In its presentation, FRA will also highlight other major fundamental rights developments in 2022, including the implementation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights; racism, xenophobia and antisemitism; and child rights of the child.

The Fundamental Rights Report is then also presented by the FRA Director to the European Parliament on 28 June.
