FRA joins webinar on the Charter in strategic litigation

Many legal practitioners on the national level in Member States still fail to invoke the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter consistently. Even when they do, they often struggle to follow through to timely and effective implementation of court rulings.

The Starlight 2.0 programme aims to help legal professionals use the Charter effectively for systemic change at a time when the rule of law and fundamental rights are under threat.

On 1 July, FRA took part in the second webinar of the Starlight 2.0 programme ‘Using the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in Strategic Litigation: Lessons and Perspectives’. Democracy Reporting International Global organised the webinar.

The webinar explored challenges and opportunities of applying the Charter and driving systemic change through the contributions of experts. These included representatives from the European Commission, the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, ILGA Europe.

The webinar marked the launch of the Programme’s second round of calls for applications for training on the use of the Charter in strategic litigation.
