On 17 November 2022, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) organised an expert meeting to explore how FRA’s 2022 guidance on establishing independent national border monitoring mechanisms can in practice support effective monitoring of fundamental rights at borders.
The project aims to improve the collection and processing of equality data in Belgium and to provide a centralised platform to improve accessibility and transparency. The result will be a hub of equality data sources in Belgium for three discrimination grounds (‘racial’ criteria; religion or belief; and sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex).
Actiris, the Brussels Regional Employment Office, developed a study to understand specific barriers facing job seekers by monitoring their national origins, and mechanisms of discrimination on the basis of origin and sex.
On 10 November, FRA hosted the annual meeting of the Fundamental Rights Platform.
On 16 November, FRA joined the conference of German commissioners against antisemitism and for the promotion of Jewish life.
The first meeting of the ETIAS Fundamental Rights Guidance Board took place on 14 November.
FRA participated at the first Civil Society Forum on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life.
