Populating these indicators with concrete data, allows FRA to identify relevant developments across all areas covered by the indicators. The data collections were carried out in 2023 and 2024 and focused on the following areas:. - lifting legal and administrative barriers; - increasing rights awareness; - making political participation more accessible; - expanding opportunities for participation. FRA’s multidisciplinary research network conducted research from December 2023 to February 2024 and from October to December 2013. The data collection covered all EU Member States (the EU28 in 2013 and, after Brexit, the EU27 in 2024). Each of the indicators may be considered independently, but should be read in the context of the wider set of indicators which together give an overview of the situation concerning the political participation of persons with disabilities.
