Law enforcement webinar on strengthening practical responses to antisemitism

Around 130 participants joined the CEPOL webinar on combating antisemitism, bringing together complementary expertise from the EU Law Enforcement Training Agency (CEPOL), FRA, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), and Romanian law enforcement.

FRA presented findings from its 2023 survey on Jewish people’s experiences of antisemitism, as well as its 2026 work on monitoring and recording antisemitic incidents. It also shared insights into principles for monitoring and recording hate crime, including antisemitic hate speech and hate crime, highlighting trust in the police, improved data collection, the effective recognition and recording of antisemitism, and cooperation between law enforcement and civil society.

The session linked FRA’s evidence with operational guidance for police officers, including the identification and recording of antisemitic bias, barriers to reporting, and victim-centred responses.

CEPOL framed the exchange for frontline law enforcement officials across the EU, creating a space in which evidence, international guidance, and national practice could reinforce one another.

The workshop underlined the continued demand for practical, evidence-based training on tackling antisemitism and demonstrated the value of continued cooperation between CEPOL, FRA, IHRA, and national law enforcement authorities.
