On 18 June, FRA presented the key findings of the Fundamental Rights Report 2024 to the Working Party on fundamental rights, citizens’ rights and free movement of persons (FREMP) of the Council of the EU.
FRA joined online a Working Group meeting on Confronting Hate speech. The European Commission’s Working Group on Equality and Values organised the meeting on 20 and 21 June.
On 25 June, FRA presented its ongoing project on fundamental rights protection of people with disabilities in institutions during an online meeting of the European Disability Platform.
On 11 and 12 June, FRA took participated in a plenary meeting of the European Judicial Network. Over 100 judges and prosecutors from the EU Member States and some non-EU countries attended the meeting.
FRA presented its updated draft guidance during the Council Frontiers Working Party on setting up national independent mechanisms to monitor fundamental rights compliance at EU borders. The meeting took place in Brussels on 6 June.
FRA launched its report on the GDPR-experiences of data protection authorities during the Privacy Symposium Conference in Venice on 11 June. These supervisory bodies are the key enforcers of the fundamental right of personal data protection.

FRA and the Frontex Consultative Forum on Fundamental Rights attended the Frontex Management Board meeting on 13 June. They commented on the protection of fundamental rights in Frontex operations.

FRA delivered online training to staff of the Romanian People’s Advocate on 11 and 12 June. The aim was to promote and strengthen the use of the EU’s Fundamental Rights Charter at the national level.
FRA presented its research on the challenges faced by Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) in implementing the GDPR to the delegates of the Data Protection Working Party of the Council of the EU.
On 28 June, FRA will welcome the participants of the Public Leadership Programme for Women from the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest.
On 24 June, FRA will welcome a group of students from the Central European University.
FRA held an information session for national authorities on the FRA’s report on EU funds: Ensuring compliance with fundamental rights.
FRA contributed to the annual meeting of the EU Temporary Relocation Platform. The Platform, an initiative of the European Commission, is a network of entities engaged in temporary relocation of at-risk human rights defenders.
FRA joined working meetings on establishing the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). FRA is a member of the ETIAS Fundamental Rights Guidance Board, set up under the Regulation.
The Council of Europe held a National Preventative Mechanisms Forum on 4 and 5 June in Strasbourg. FRA presented its Criminal Detention Database. It also participated in discussions on the detention of vulnerable people and migrants.
FRA delivered training on EU return laws and related case law of the EU’s Court of Justice at a training event for administrative judges in Budapest. The training took place on 30 May at the Hungarian Judicial Academy.
