On 14 January, FRA held an online meeting with juvenile justice experts to consult on a new FRA project covering procedural safeguards for children who are suspects or accused in criminal proceedings. The project will provide evidence-based advice to EU institutions and Member States on the implementation of the EU’s Procedural Safeguards Directive.

FRA participated in the meeting organised by the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) of the EEA and Norway Grants, in cooperation with Hungarian authorities, to start the Grants’ Roma Programme in Hungary. The FMO described the Grants’ Programme, and how it will be managed and implemented.
FRA published a brief note on the migration law implications of the new EU-UK arrangements.
In December 2020, FRA was an observer to the Schengen return and readmission evaluations of Cyprus. It joined a team of evaluators from the European Commission and EU Member States. This was the fourth such FRA observer visit to Member States in 2020.
