Migrants continue to suffer as reception centres remain overcrowded and violence against migrants surges
Significant increase in arrivals in Greece, overcrowding of reception centres and violence against migrants at the borders are some of the fundamental rights concerns FRA identifies in its latest migration quarterly report. It also highlights the situation in the Mediterranean, where boats with migrants were still being forced to remain at sea, waiting for weeks or days until they were allowed to disembark.

Des voies légales d’accès vers l’Europe sont nécessaires pour lutter contre le trafic d’êtres humains
La tragédie survenue récemment, au cours de laquelle 39 personnes retrouvées dans un camion au Royaume-Uni ont perdu la vie, met en lumière la nature extrême du prix payé par ces personnes à des passeurs sans scrupule. L’Agence des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne (FRA) réitère en conséquence son appel en faveur de voies légales d’accès plus sûres vers l’Europe afin d’endiguer la vague de criminalité liée au trafic d’êtres humains.

The 2018 edition of the handbook on European non-discrimination law examines law stemming from the complementary systems of the EU non-discrimination directives and the European Convention on Human Rights, drawing on them interchangeably to the extent that they overlap, while highlighting differences where these exist.
