Cependant, il arrive parfois que les personnes âgées ne possèdent pas les compétences numériques nécessaires pour les utiliser, ce qui peut éventuellement les empêcher d’exercer leurs droits fondamentaux. Elles peuvent ainsi être désavantagées et risquer d’être exclues de nos sociétés numérisées. Tel est l’avertissement lancé par l’Agence des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne (FRA) dans un rapport. Les pays de l’UE doivent garantir un accès universel aux services publics. Les personnes âgées devraient être en mesure de choisir la manière d’y accéder et recevoir de l’aide pour acquérir des compétences numériques.

On 5 September, FRA delivered an online presentation on fundamental rights for Europol’s guest officers who will be deployed in Italy, Romania, Hungary and Lithuania.

Toutefois, il ressort de recherches menées par l'Agence des droits fondamentaux de l’Union européenne (FRA) que le statut de résident de longue durée – UE, qui confère ces droits, est sous-utilisé. La FRA appelle l’UE et les autorités nationales à simplifier les règles, à supprimer les obstacles et à favoriser l’adoption de ce statut UE.
Whether it happens in football, in the office or on the way home, sexual harassment and violence against women are commonplace in the EU. It is time to show this human-rights abuse a red card. The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) calls on EU countries to effectively tackle harassment and violence against women. At the same time, they should better protect women and provide more support for victims.

Once again, the recent tragic drowning of migrants off the Italian coast underlines why Europe needs to urgently address the rising death toll in the Mediterranean. The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) calls on the EU and its Member States to act now to prevent future tragedies and save lives at sea.

Following recent deaths of trans women and attacks on other members of the LGBTIQ community in Europe, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) calls on EU Member States to tackle violence and effectively protect all trans and LGBTIQ people.
Across the world, human rights defenders take action to protect and promote human rights. But many of them face persecution in their home countries due to their human rights work. As there is no common, consistent EU approach, it is often difficult for them to find safety in the EU. Lack of information and obstacles in obtaining visa are some of the main challenges they face, finds an EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) report. More flexible relocation programmes and practical support would help.
FRA organised an information session on its data explorers. The session provided an overview of available datasets, and explained how to search, visualise or export the data. More than 40 representatives of national authorities across the EU joined the presentation.
