FRA country visit to the Netherlands

FRA’s Director Sirpa Rautio carried out a country visit to the Netherlands between 16 and 18 June. She had bilateral meetings with Pieter Heerma, Minister for the Interior and Claudia van Bruggen, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice.

She travelled to Utrecht to meet with the Advisory Board, Management Board and staff of the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights, to learn about their current activities.

In The Hague, she engaged in an interactive dialogue with FRA’s stakeholders in the Netherlands. These included representatives from five ministries, along with Scientific Committee members and representatives from the Dutch FRANET partners. She also presented FRA’s work and priorities to the Dutch Parliamentary Committee on the Interior. She met Michael Schmid, President of Eurojust, to discuss the ongoing cooperation between the two agencies.

Finally, she intervened at two events: the National Convention against Racism and Discrimination and the International Commission on Missing Persons’ 30th anniversary roundtable.
