From 18 to 20 May, the Steering Committee on the Council of Europe’s child rights strategy will meet. The focus will be on the development of the new strategy to over 2022 to 2027.

FRA will speak to law enforcement officers about data quality in EU migration and security IT systems.
The EU law enforcement training agency (CEPOL) gathered experts from EU Agencies and Member States to identify and discuss future training needs on information exchange and interoperability of EU IT systems.
On 30 April, FRA took part in Equinet’s webinar on artificial intelligence. It introduced the context of its research on fundamental rights and AI, its findings with regards to specific fundamental rights (data protection, non-discrimination, and access to remedies), and its key recommendations.
FRA presented its Fundamental Rights Charter resources and tools during a judicial training conference. It also showcased its new Charter e-guidance, an e-learning tool for judges on the Charter’s application. The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU hosted the ‘Modernising EU justice systems by boosting training of justice professionals’ conference.

FRA Director, Michael O'Flaherty, delivered a speech during a panel debate reflecting on the current situation facing vulnerable adults and the way forward. The Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU hosted the high-level conference on protecting vulnerable adults across Europe. It took place on 30 March 2021.

FRA exchanged views on civil society space with the European Parliament’s LIBE Democracy, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights Monitoring Group (DRFMG).
On 27 April, FRA attended the high-level forum on the implementation of the architecture for the EU information systems for borders, migration and security.
The summary of FRA’s Fundamental Rights Survey report on What do fundamental rights mean for people in the EU? is now available in all EU languages, except German, plus Macedonian and Serbian. The German version will follow soon.

The EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) held a webinar on unlawful profiling on 21 April. In its presentation, FRA set the scene with regards to discriminatory stop and search, building on its survey data.

FRA will be one of the keynote speakers during a webinar on triggering meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities, their families and their carers. The COFACE Disability platform hosts the event.

FRA will participate in the annual meeting of the Eurostat Working Group on Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics. The 5-6 May meeting brings together national statistical institutes, different European Commission Directorates-General and EU agencies.
